The Colorado Choir’s members come from all walks of life, united in our love of choral music. This month, we would like to introduce you to the members of our 2nd Alto section.
Ann W.
Years with the Choir: 27
Fun Facts about Ann:
- She once worked at a Denny’s.
- She now works at Metro State.
- She co-authored French textbooks for college students and did a video French course for The Teaching Company a couple of years ago.
- She loves travel, hiking, and theater.
Connie H.
Years with the Choir: 1st season
Fun Facts about Connie:
- She loves writing, nature, yoga.
- She also loves coffee, golfing, and the Denver Broncos.
- Most of all, she loves her sweet sweet family!
Darlene T.
Years with the Choir: 25+
Choir Board Position: Secretary
Fun Facts about Darlene:
- She spent 27 years in the airline industry.
- She’s an avid bowler and has bowled in airline tournaments all over the world. She still bowls!
- She’s been married for 50 years!
- She has a twin brother, a daughter & son-in-law in Texas, a son & daughter-in-law in Denver, and two grandsons ages 4 and 5 ½.
- She still serves on the Choir’s board after 24 years.
Dee D.
Years with the Choir: 40 years with a couple of missed years due to babies
Fun Facts about Dee:
- She works as an attorney in a Workers’ Compensation defense law firm and as a nurse.
- She enjoys playing tennis and the organ.
- She loves visiting her kids and grandkids and traveling.
Jen W.
Years with the Choir: 2
Fun Facts about Jen:
- She’s a family therapist by trade during the day.
- She’s an aspiring ballroom dancer by night.
Jocelyn D.
Years with the Choir: 1st season
Fun Facts about Jocelyn:
- She lived in England for a year.
- Despite having been born and raised in CO, she has only been skiing once.
- She doesn’t like watermelon or chocolate ice cream.
Mindee F.

Choir Board Position: Technology Coordinator
Fun Facts about Mindee:
- She lived in Costa Rica for almost 3 years with her family and her son was born there.
- She used to work in Hollywood on movies and television shows as an Assistant Director.
- She loves traveling, reading, and all things geeky.
- She designed the Choir’s last two websites.
Penny M.
Years with the Choir: 17
Fun Facts about Penny:
- Singing to babies is the best part of her wonderful work in postpartum care.
- She spontaneously sings Edelweiss every time she skis the Edelweiss run at Mary Jane.
Sherri L.
Years with the Choir: 7
Fun Facts about Sherri:
- She has 5 grandchildren ages 9 to 13.
- She’s run 4 marathons after she turned 50.
Susan B.
Years with the Choir: This is her 2nd season, but she sang with the choir 20 years ago for 5 seasons.
Fun Facts about Susan:
- She has 4 grandchildren ages 3 to 23.
- She played college soccer.
- She didn’t start singing until she was 25 and moved to Colorado and started taking voice lessons so she could be louder on the soccer field.
- Most of all…she loves cake!
