Even though we can’t sing for you live for a while, we would still love to share our music with you. Each month while we’re isolated, we will share a song that’s special to us. We look forward to the time when we can sing for you in person again!
This month’s selection comes to you from Ken Fox, who has been a member of the Choir for 14 years and was previously a member of the Choir’s Board of Directors:
My name is Ken Fox, a member of the bass section since 2006 and an avid choral singer all my life. My music taste has always been focused on the classics, but there is one living composer who recently has caught my attention, Z. Randall Stroope. We have sung “All My Heart This Night Rejoices” a few times in the recent past, and each time I find new pleasure in the tonality and poetry of the piece. Calmly, yet fervently, we are led to sing Gloria, In Excelsis Deo! Even in troubling times, sing Gloria! In addition, the basses provide the basis of interesting chords throughout the piece, adding to my pleasure in singing this meditation.
