Even though we can’t sing for you live for a while, we would still love to share our music with you. Each month while we’re isolated, we will share a song that’s special to us. We look forward to the time when we can sing for you in person again!
This month’s selection comes to you from Becky McGurk, who has been a member of the Choir for 32 years and was previously a member of the Choir’s Board of Directors:
I was asked to consider what song might be meaningful to me in these difficult times. It didn’t take long to realize that not only has there been one song in particular that I have turned to nearly every day but that this song may have significance and rich meaning for all of us; not only because of its rich textures and harmonies, but this particular piece allows the listener to surrender all doubts, woes, and grief, merely by suggesting that we are not alone. “Be Thou With Me” affords me a daily reminder that I am not alone, no matter the difficulty that I am facing. I hope you enjoy this perfect pairing of text and tone.
