In celebration of Kelly’s 10th Season as the Choir’s Conductor and Artistic Director and as a thank you to both Kelly and Mary for a marvelous season, the Choir commissioned some original artwork that we presented to them at our final concert.
The music staff turns into the portraits – lines never crossing – and then come out the other side. Kelly’s song is “Be Thou With Me” and Mary’s is “Jesus, Be Near to Me.” We’re so grateful for these two incredible musicians!
The artist is Andrew Crust, who is also the assistant conductor for the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the assistant conductor designate for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. He calls the drawing style “Notable Portraits.”
