The Colorado Choir’s members come from all walks of life, united in our love of choral music. For our 50th Anniversary Season, we want to introduce (and re-introduce!) our members to our audience. We also asked them if they would like to share any thoughts on what music and The Colorado Choir mean to them.
We look forward to meeting you at our concerts and events this season!
This month we showcase our 1st Soprano section.

Rikka P.
Years with the Choir: 9
Rikka’s Thoughts on Music:
Music is fuel for my soul. It’s how I express my feelings and how I connect with my family. The Colorado Choir was my childhood and is now a large part of my adulthood. My Grandpa started the choir, so I grew up going to all of the concerts (even if they landed on my birthday). My brothers and I were a part of the original ticket table volunteers and were our very own singing trio when our favorite songs were sung. This choir is so important to me and my family. I couldn’t imagine a life without it.
Fun Facts about Rikka:
- Rikka roommates have said that living with her is like living in a Disney princess movie.
- She spends her summers on an island in Minnesota.
- She works as an Academic Liaison at Children’s Hospital.
Teresa L.
Years with the Choir: 1.5
Teresa’s Thoughts on Music:
Music has always been where I go to find myself. It grounds me, challenges me, and lets me connect with others in a way that feels both deeply personal and shared. Being a part of The Colorado Choir has added so much richness to my life. It’s given me not just a place to sing, but a community to grow with. I’m gaining some incredible moments standing shoulder to shoulder with this group, creating something beautiful together, one note at a time.
Fun Facts about Teresa:
- Teresa is a reformed extrovert who has become more introverted with age.
- She has mastered the art of asking strangers to reach the top shelf.
- She is fluent in English, sarcasm, and whatever language my kids are speaking this week.
